Rewrite a weak prompt
From one line to an instruction that produces a usable result.
Your task
Take a one-line prompt you have used recently, or use this one: write an email inviting clients to our webinar. Run it in a new conversation and save the answer. Then rewrite it with a role, a one-sentence task, at least three facts of context and a clear format with length and tone. Run the new version in a fresh conversation and list three concrete differences between the two answers.
Guidance
Rewriting a prompt you have already used is the quickest way to feel the difference structure makes. You see the generic first answer and the much better second one side by side.
Keep the comparison fair: same tool, same task, a fresh conversation for each version, and the same test for both results: could I send this with minimal editing?
Your notes
Key takeaways
- Comparing before and after makes the value of structure obvious.
- Test each version in a fresh conversation for a fair comparison.
- Judge results by how little editing they need.
