Prompt templates for your team

Turn a good prompt into a template anyone can reuse.

When a prompt works well, save it. A template is a proven prompt with the changing parts marked as placeholders, for example [client name], [product] or [paste meeting notes here]. Colleagues fill in the gaps instead of reinventing the instruction every time.

A good template includes a line about when to use it, the prompt itself, and a note on what to check in the result. Store templates where the team already works, such as a shared document, the intranet or a saved project in your AI tool, not in personal notes.

Templates are also how quality becomes consistent. When everyone prompts differently, results vary wildly and nothing scales. A shared set of ten well-tested templates often delivers more than a hundred individual experiments.

Key takeaways

  1. A template is a proven prompt with placeholders for the parts that change.
  2. Include when to use it and what to check in the result.
  3. Shared templates make quality consistent across the team.
