AI across departments

Concrete examples from sales, marketing, finance, HR and support.

Transcript

In sales, teams use AI to prepare call briefs from public company information, draft follow-up emails and summarise long tender documents. Marketing uses it for first drafts, content variations for different channels and quick analysis of customer feedback.

Finance and operations get value from explaining spreadsheet formulas, drafting commentary on monthly results and turning messy notes into clear procedures. HR uses AI for job description drafts and onboarding material, while decisions about candidates stay with people, both for fairness and because the EU AI Act treats AI in hiring as high risk.

Support teams see some of the fastest gains: suggested replies based on the knowledge base, ticket summaries and translation. The pattern is the same across departments: AI prepares, a person decides and signs off.

Key takeaways

  1. Every department has frequent, text-heavy tasks AI can prepare.
  2. Decisions about people stay with people.
  3. The winning pattern: AI prepares, a person decides.
